Or after the late show \u2013<br \/>\nstrolling the boulevard. They were the plans,<br \/>\nall underwritten in the neat left-hand<br \/>\nof architects \u2013 a true, legible script.<br \/>\nI pulled that future out of the north wind<br \/>\nat the landfill site, stamped with today\u2019s date,<br \/>\nriding the air with other such futures,<br \/>\nall unlived in and now fully extinct.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The future was a beautiful place, once.
